Blanco Home Additions & ADU: The Campbell Owner’s Guide
Blanco fixtures and hardware are commonly found in Campbell ADU kitchens and secondary bathrooms, where their compact silhouettes and German-engineered fittings suit tight footprints. When a Blanco faucet cartridge, strainer basket, or mounting assembly fails in an ADU or addition, replacement typically runs $180-$520 installed, depending on access and whether the original rough-in allows swap-out without cabinet modification. We stock Blanco-compatible cartridges and strainers on our Campbell trucks, and most replacements are completed in a single visit.
Most Campbell homeowners discover the issue when the ADU tenant reports a drip they cannot stop, or when the sink strainer starts leaking into the cabinet below - damage that goes unnoticed longer in a secondary unit than it would in the main house.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To
Blanco’s residential line in Campbell ADUs skews toward three series: the Culina semi-pro faucet (common in ADU kitchens where ceiling height is limited), the Precis silgranit undermount sinks, and the Quatrus R15 bar sinks installed in converted garage ADUs near the Pruneyard. The cartridge for a Culina is a 125098 cartridge assembly, brass-bodied with ceramic discs, and it is not interchangeable with the older Meridian series cartridge despite similar external dimensions. The Precis sink uses a 3.5-inch strainer basket with a specific 2.25-inch threaded shank; standard 3.5-inch baskets from big-box stores will thread in but will not seat flush, leaving a gap that traps debris.
To identify your part, check the faucet escutcheon for the laser-etched Blanco model number, or photograph the strainer basket from below - the OEM part number is stamped on the plastic locknut in most post-2018 units. We carry both OEM Blanco cartridges and a vetted aftermarket equivalent from Danco that matches the ceramic-disc spec; for strainers, we prefer OEM because the thread pitch tolerance on aftermarket units is looser, and we’ve seen cross-threading in Campbell’s harder water conditions.
Signs Your Blanco Home Additions & ADU Is Failing

- Handle requires increasing force to shut off. The ceramic discs in the cartridge are scoring, usually from Campbell’s mineral-heavy water supply. Left alone, the brass body will gall against the valve seat and require full faucet replacement rather than a $40 cartridge swap.
- Water continues to run at a trickle when the handle is “closed.” This is advanced cartridge wear, not user error. In ADUs, tenants often compensate by overtightening, which cracks the cartridge housing and sends water into the cabinet below.
- Strainer basket no longer holds water. The rubber seal has hardened, or the pivot rod (on pop-up styles) has corroded at the bend point. Blanco’s pivot rods are metric-threaded; a standard 1/4-inch rod will strip the brass insert.
- Leak from the base of the faucet spout. The O-ring set between the spout and body has degraded. On Culina models, this requires removing the spray head and sliding the spout collar upward - a simple job if you have the right 2.5mm hex key, which most Campbell homeowners do not.
- Visible corrosion on the strainer locknut from below. This indicates a slow leak that has been active for months. In garage conversions near Campbell Avenue, we’ve found this has compromised the cabinet base and required subfloor patching - a $400 problem that started as a $12 gasket.
Before
AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For Blanco fixture repair and replacement within a Campbell home addition or ADU, our installed pricing is straightforward:
| Service | Campbell Price Range |
|---|---|
| Blanco cartridge replacement (faucet) | $180-$320 |
| Blanco strainer basket replacement | $220-$380 |
| Full faucet replacement (Culina or equivalent) | $450-$720 |
| Sink replacement (Precis or Quatrus, including faucet reinstallation) | $680-$1,200 |
The range reflects access: an ADU kitchen with a standard cabinet box and PEX shutoffs below takes 45 minutes; a custom built-in with stone sides and no shutoffs requires temporary water shutoff at the main and adds labor. Every quote is a flat written price with scope documented before work starts, per Clause 1 of the Haven Standard. Parts carry a one-year warranty; our labor carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise.
DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check: confirm the leak source with a dry paper towel, verify that supply-line shutoffs turn (many Campbell ADUs still have original multi-turn valves that seize), and photograph the model number for reference. What goes wrong in DIY: overtightening the cartridge retaining nut, which cracks the brass body; using plumber’s putty on a silgranit sink, which stains the composite; or forcing a standard strainer into a metric-threaded drain body, which strips threads and requires a $200 sink replacement.
Blanco’s engineering tolerances are tight, and their installation specs assume metric tooling. We carry the correct hex keys, basin wrenches, and thread sealants on every Campbell truck. If you’d rather not buy a tool you’ll use once, call (831) 704-1211 and we’ll scope it in person - estimates are free, and the price we write is the price you pay.
FAQs
Typically 7-12 years in Campbell’s water conditions, which run moderately hard at 120-180 ppm calcium. Homes near the Los Gatos Creek corridor see shorter lifespans due to higher mineral content. Call (831) 704-1211 for an exact quote - estimates are free.
Sometimes: if the leak is at the tailpiece joint, a new slip-joint washer and careful reassembly may solve it. If the leak is from the basket flange or the locknut threads are corroded, replacement is the only lasting fix. Call (831) 704-1211 for an exact quote - estimates are free.
Most Blanco cartridge or strainer replacements are completed in 45-90 minutes, assuming standard access and no seized shutoffs. Full sink replacement in an ADU with stone countertops requires 3-4 hours including cure time for sealants. Call (831) 704-1211 for an exact quote - estimates are free.
We stock cartridges for the Culina and Meridian series, strainer baskets for Precis and Quatrus sinks, and common O-ring sets. Less common finishes (cinder, truffle, biscuit) require a next-day order from our San Jose supplier. Call (831) 704-1211 for an exact quote - estimates are free.
