The Heirloom series uses a 3.5-inch center-to-center hinge pattern that does not interchange with the 4-inch Castleby spacing; mixing the two leaves the gate binding at the strike plate. Check the inside face of your hinge barrel for a stamped series code, or measure center-to-center with a tape measure before ordering.

We source OEM Moen latches and hinges through our regular hardware distributors, but for Campbell’s coastal-influenced climate, we often spec stainless-steel aftermarket equivalents from D&D Technologies or Nationwide Industries. • Squealing or grinding from the hinge barrel. The nylon or bronze bushing has worn through to metal-on-metal contact. Left alone, this galling will seize the hinge and twist the frame.
• Visible corrosion pitting on the latch face. Campbell’s marine layer brings salt moisture inland; zinc-alloy hardware develops white oxidation that flakes off and exposes raw metal. Stainless or powder-coated replacements last significantly longer here.
